The other day I took my eldest to dinner at a new restaurant for us; it was time to introduce her to Thai food. In any event, the restaurant was not crowded, but two tables to the left of ours, had a couple.
While I was eating my soup and talking to my daughter, I happened to glance over at the Asian lady seated nearby. She, too, was eating soup. When our eyes met, naturally I made a gesture greeting…. however, instead of my typical smile and quick “nodding,” I smiled and made a prolonged nod. To make the situation even more uncomfortable, she returned my bow back.
